FAQs
Can we work on a story together?
Maybe! Drop me an email to let me know what you want to talk to me about.
I’ll let you know whether I can help, and what next steps might be. If I can’t help you, I may be able to signpost you to someone who can. Emailing me is not a commitment to working with me.
Can I contact you anonymously?
Not at the moment, but if you drop me an email we can talk about pitching a story in which you are an anonymous source.
What is ‘copy approval’ and do you offer it?
For me, ‘copy approval’ means you get to see your quotes before I write the article.
Sometimes I can offer this, particularly where interviewees are named or their story is sensitive or personal. If you decide to work with me we can negotiate this during an intro phone call. That said, I don’t offer copy approval on the article itself, and all my work is subject to changes from editors.
Who do you write for?
In the past I have pitched and written stories for titles including The Guardian, i paper, Therapy Today, Cosmopolitan UK, Glamour UK, Stylist, Tricycle magazine, Doctors.net.uk, LitHub, The Revealer (NYU), The Lead and New Humanist.
If you have a specific title in mind for your story, and I have written for that title before, then please let me know when you contact me.
Can you get me coverage?
Maybe! I only work on stories that I can pitch, and I can only pitch stories that I think editors will be interested in commissioning.
Do you pay for case studies?
No, that’s not how I work and I don’t have any experience of doing so. You may be able to find journalists who pay case studies, but unfortunately I can’t help you with that.
